Her legacy
A HUG FROM HEAVEN

A HUG FROM HEAVEN

When you feel a gentle breeze
Caress you when you sigh
It's a hug sent from Heaven
From a loved one way up high.

If a soft and tender raindrop
Lands upon your nose
They've added a small kiss
As fragile as a rose.

If a song you hear fills you
With a feeling of sweet love
It's a hug sent from Heaven
From someone special up above.

If you awaken in the morning
To a bluebird's chirping song
It's music sent from Heaven
To cheer you all day long.

If tiny little snowflakes
Land upon your face
It's a hug sent from Heaven
Trimmed with Angel lace.

So keep the joy in your heart
If you're lonely my dear friend
Hugs that are sent from Heaven
A broken heart will mend.

A YEAR WITH JESUS

It's been a year, a long year, Jen

Since we last saw your dear face.

How we made it through thus far

Was only by God’s grace.

Through every moment of every day

We longed to have you near,

To laugh, to share and plan with you

And your lovely voice to hear.

But, O our Lord had other thoughts,

And called you to His side;

He welcomed you with all His love

While His arms were opened wide.

And now you’re walking Heaven’s streets,

We know you’re happy there;

This calms our fears and gives us peace

To know you’re in God’s care.

We miss you more than we can say

So we’ve asked our Lord above

From Mom and Dad and Jamie too.

To give you all our love.

You can’t come back to us we know,

But we can go to you;

We’ll keep that thought close to our hearts-

Seeing you and Jesus too!

Until that day keep singing Jen,

It’s only for awhile

Then we’ll join you around God’s Throne;

Now that thought brings a smile!

(Thank You Lord for giving us the joy, if only for a few years of being the parents and sister of our beautiful Jen)

Poems from friends and family

Remember Jennifer
*
There's an empty cloud
that hangs in the air
Trying to fill in the spaces
remembering her there

Sweet tarts and goldfish
somethings she left behind
So we talk and eat them
while she races through our minds

Wishing for the past
wanting to make a change
No matter how hard we try
this truth still remains

Wanting to let go
and at the same time hold on
Reading about her story
not believing she is gone

Hoping she is happier
in another place
Looking down on us
with a smile on her face

"It's kind of hard with you not around
Know you in heaven smilin down
Watchin us while we pray for you
Every day we pray for you
Til the day we meet again
In my heart is where I'll keep you friend
Memories give me the strength I need to proceed
Strength I need to believe
My thoughts big I just can't define
Wish I could turn back the hands of time"

In Memory of Jennifer Kelly

We cry, we weep, we sit, we stand,
We grieve and mourn, this
semblance of reality
The question blisters our lips
As we ask it now:
"Why dear God? This isn't fair,
It can't be true and it's not right,
She was like a flower bud picked before
She blossomed."

We mourn for those sweet few years
but we also grieve for those un-reached too.

We cry, we weep, we sit, we stand,
Time cheated such a sweet girl from becoming
the great person everyone saw her to be.
Tears now dampen eyelashes,
A tightness chokes our throats
And sobs escape and resound off our lips
When beautiful memories rush before our eyes...
Of her...
A plucked flower,
A girl stopped by death.

We loved her so we cry,
"Why dear God? This isn't fair,
And it isn't right!"
Why her - we can only ask
Why now, why her...why? Why? Why?
It's just unfair.
It's too sad to be true.

So we cry, we weep, we sit, we stand,
And we wait for more tears
To inevitably fall.
Her memory was too rich and beautiful,
To really be kept out of mind for long.
Death comes to all.
But with her didn't it come too soon? Didn't it?
Our anger, sadness, and estrangement bubble,
They swell like a tear in our eyes,
And so we ask again,
"Why dear God? It isn't fair,
and it isn't right."
Wasn't it too short?
Wasn't it too quick?
We miss her laugh and her smile.

And we cry, we weep, we sit, we stand,
And listen to something we weren't expecting.
What is God's answer?
Where does it lie?
It's somewhere inside us
Perhaps from long, long ago,
When we heard the words,
"Heaven's so much more amazing than Earth!"

When we remember the loss of Jen from us,
We are forced to remember her gain,
She will never cry again,
Never more shall she weep,
She is in Heaven now, O' God,
This I know,
Her years will be long and sweet forever
And God will wipe all the tears
From her eyes.

We loved her before,
Now we'll love her from afar,
We may cry,
But at least we know she laughs,
We may weep,
But now we know she smiles,
We may grieve,
But we know she is joyous.

God, please, please take good care, of our dear friend,
Jen
Way above the clouds and our tears.

Hold Me Lord

In the silence of this moment
Lord, I'm reaching out to You,
For You know how much I love You
Yet You know I'm hurting too.
You understand me, don't you Lord,
When you see my falling tears?
Oh, it gives me such a comfort
To know my heart You'll hear.
I need you Lord to hold me close
As you hold our sweet Jen too;
Let her know that while we miss her
We know she's safe with You.

The time that she was with us Lord
Seemed such a little while,
But knowing that she loved You so
Just makes my sad heart smile.
We know that Heaven's a brighter place
As Jen shines and sings her praise;
And we will one day share that joy
When we've lived out our days.
Until that day - that Glorious Day
We'll pray this solemn prayer
That while we work and watch and wait
We'll leave her in Your care.
